Book Club November

Our book club met on 8th November to discuss our latest read which was entitled This Boy by Alan Johnson. This was an autobiography about his life growing up in London. It provoked a lively discussion about life back in the 1950's and how the education system has changed over the years. The book was enjoyed by all of our members.

Our next book is A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. Set in India in the mid-1970s it tells the story of four unlikely people whose lives come together during a time of political turmoil. We will be getting together on December 10th for our Christmas meeting which promises to be a jolly affair with drinks and nibbles. It has been decided to wait until the meeting in the New Year to discuss this book and our next selection as there there won't enough time to read the first book before our Christmas meeting.
