Sandford WI

Always busy.......

Summertime in our small garden at the top of Nye Road

Christmas came early...

Our Annual Dinner this year was a celebration of our 91st Birthday and  was  a break with tradition as we enjoyed a lovely meal at Michelangelo's - an Italian restaurant on the seafront at Weston Super Mare.

The staff were most attentive and while winds, rain and even thunder stormed outside, our photos show we had a great time inside.
As we were transported by coach the lovely Italian wines could flow freely!

Putting on the Ritz!

Our July Meeting "Putting on the Ritz " was a  wonderful event organised by members of the Committee with  beautifully decorated tables, lovely sandwiches, strawberries and cream, followed by scones and yummy cakes.

HISTORY

Sandford  WI was formed in 1925 meeting in the Village Hall. With water for tea making from a well, wearing hats and a strict set of rules.
But nevertheless successful and organising many activities in the community through the years. With a drama group that put on Pantomimes every year.  How things have changed! We are thrilled to say we have 50 members in 2015. NO Hats unless Ladies Day at the races and we now have running water.
In addition to the  members monthly meetings,  we have a BOOK CLUB, ART & CRAFT CLUB, THEATRE CLUB, LUNCH CLUB.  WALKING CLUB  AND SKITTLES  TEAM.  The  DRAMA CLUB  is now being restarted
