The Memory Garden which is situated on the crossroads in Sandford is looking particularly lovely at the moment. If you have the chance you should go along and have a look at it. Sandford WI are responsible for its maintenance and Jenny and Colin do a wonderful job of looking after it. They would be grateful if any of our members would like to help as well. They put in a plant in memory of any of our ladies who have died so it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

An evening at Wincanton Races
Our evening at Wincanton Races proved to be a huge success. It was lovely to see that some members brought their husbands along. We were in a different restaurant this time which was much nicer. We had a magnificent view of the race track and could walk out on to the course to cheer our horses along. The food was lovely and also the service. Well done Beryl for arranging yet another lovely outing.
Jenny enjoying the evening with her Mum who had lots of wins!
Some of our ladies waiting for the coach in Winscombe looking lovely.
Here's Margaret having a bet.
Kath and Mary still wearing their fascinators!

Second Book Club
Our original Book Club has been meeting regularly for many years but has in excess of 12 members. It was felt that the group had reached capacity if members wanted to meet in each others homes. So we have now formed a Second book Club which met for the first time and had a lovely evening in May. So far we have only got 7 members so would welcome a few more.
The first book we have chosen is The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin. "If you knew the date of your death how would you live?" This is the story of four siblings who are given this information by a clairvoyant. Our next meeting is on 26th June at 7.30pm at Trish's house.

Thank you Jenny for hosting the last meeting. The group had a relaxed evening discussing the book which was entitled The Witchfinders Sister and other topics! The general feeling was that it was well written with some gruesome parts. We were all pleased that we did not live in those times.
Our next book chosen by Chris is All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.
Pat has kindly offered to host our discussion night on Wednesday July 10th at 7.30pm.
